About Us

Cultural Cell has been established to promote and develop skills of acting, singing, dancing, presentation, individual and group performance among the students. The Cultural Cell organizes events, functions, competitions and various extra-curricular activities to enhance skills and instill values and life skills among the students and faculties throughout the academic year.
The committee shoulders responsibility to encourage and train the students and bring out the hidden talents of the students that help them showcase their artistry in the field of performing and fine arts. The cell gives opportunities and provides platforms to students to overcome their inhibitions and exhibit their aptitude in the cultural area through its varied events .

Aims & Objectives

The Cultural Cell aims at inculcating the skills of acting, public speaking and creating awareness about different cultural aspects among the students. It also strives to encourage talent and hidden potential of students providing them a platform to show their creativity.

 

  • To provide platform to the students to build up their talent and creativity.
  • To preserve and sustain traditional and cultural values among the students.
  • To arrange various cultural programmes for enhancing the skills of dancing, singing, acting, etc.
  • To create innumerable opportunities for the students to exhibit their skills and talent.

Commemorative Days

Cultural Cell celebrates Commemorative Days in order to reminisce the radical work done by social reformers, freedom fighters, martyrs and historical figures on the occasion of their birth and death anniversaries. The celebration of Commemorative Days helps to inculcate ethical, moral and human values among the students, faculties and stakeholders. These days are celebrated in the presence of Hon. Principal along with students and staff by worshiping the images of reformers.

University Youth Festival

The Cultural Cell takes initiative to create awareness among all students and faculty about cultural events and programmes. It encourages the students to participate in all events of Shivaji University sponsored District and Central Youth Festivals. As a result of this initiative, the college organized 

Shivaji University’s 38th District Youth Festival     26th October, 2018

The Youth Festival was inaugurated by the Vice- Chancellor Dr. Devanand Shinde in the presence of Prof. Dr. R. V. Gurav, the Director of Students’ Development and Hon. Prin. Dr. V. S. Sawant, the Joint Secretary of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Satara.   

In this Youth Festival 820 students from 40 colleges in Satara District affiliated to Shivaji University Kolhapur participated in 14 cultural events. The university appreciated the college for the successful organization of youth festival by presenting souvenir.

Awards and Achievements

The efforts taken by the cultural cell resulted into the students’ representation at the University’s District, Central Level Youth Festivals and at the competitions organized in other colleges. In the last five years the college has done the steady growth in the cultural events. The students have grabbed 35 prizes in the competitions organized by university and other colleges. The college has received the General Championship in Literature in the academic year of 2018-19 and 2021-22.
