About Department

The Department of Microbiology has been established in 2016 to offer B. Sc. in Microbiology. The department has all necessary facilities like well-equipped laboratories, incubator, hot air oven, laminar air flow, computers, internet etc. for running courses effectively. The department is dedicated to educate the students through various curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The Department runs Short Term Course in “Microbial Quality Control in Industries” to provide plenty of opportunities to the students to continue professional development in pharmaceutical, food, Dairy industries. The Microbiology is highly allied to our life and natural processes. This enables the students to understand the principles of Health Sciences, Life Sciences and Environment and which forms the strong foundation for the various postgraduate studies.

Short Term Course

The Department conducts Short Term Course in “Microbial Quality Control in Industries” for B.Sc. Part III students. The course aims at –

  • Covering the basic techniques and their applications to pharmaceutical industries.
  • Providing knowledge about antimicrobial agent and about efficacy testing.
  • Imparting information about tools and techniques used in antimicrobial testing.
  • Giving depth of knowledge and skills for professional careers in microbiology.
