About Department

About Department

The Department of History promotes the study of history, society and culture of Maharashtra, India and the entire world. It undertakes teaching, research and extension activities as well as creates awareness among the students about historical places, cultural tourism and religious places etc. The Department runs a short-term course in ‘Travels and Tourism‘. It also conducts ‘Modi Lipi Course’. The prime motive of this course is to study archaeological documents as well as undertake historical research. The Department Organizes activities like posters presentation, wall paper, seminars, Guest lectures, Study tours at historical places etc. The best practice of department is to reminisce of freedom fighters in Koregaon Taluka by broadcasting their contribution in Indian Freedom movement.

Extension Activities & Best Practices

The Best practices of History department are ‘Modi Lipi Course’ & Reminiscence of Freedom Fighters in Koregaon Taluka.The Modi Lipi course is useful to learn skill of Modi script writing through which students can study the historical doucuments from Medival Maharastra & translated them into current script. While studing this course student would have opportunity to get job in government historical document keeping department. In a field visit learners uable to understand Reminiscence of Freedom Fighters contribution in Indian Freedom movement.
