The Department of Chemistry is one of the largest departments in our College, and it is established in 1968 with over undergraduate & Post graduate students divided between M.Sc. Analytical programme and undergraduate B.Sc. Chemistry. The Department is well-established and forward looking, with a scientific reputation which is a product of well qualified faculty, excellent teaching, laboratories, and availability of a very wide range of modern scientific instrumentation as detailed below:
• Spectrophotometer- model LT 39
• Digital Polarimeter
• PH meter
• Conductometer
• Potentiometer
• Colorimeter
The Department has a well-deserved international reputation for research into aspects of analytical, Inorganic, Physical & Organic Chemistry. The College provides seed money to conduct minor research projects.
The Department has strong research component having 04 faculty members are Ph.D. qualified & others are pursuing for their post-doctoral research work by registering part-time/ external. Much of the research work is related to the interest of industrial companies and pharmaceutical industries.
There are 04 main areas of research activity; Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry & Physical Chemistry. The research interest of individual faculty members is also available.

However, exposure to the nature and outside world definitely add to the knowledge of the students and enhance their experiential learning. Organization of field visit is one of the activities which aimed at taking students to the places where they can learn something new.
Total 43 students and 04 faculty namely Prof. Dr. S. D. Jadhav, Dr. V. S. Koshti, Mr. S. U. Kanase, Mrs. Kanase departed from D. P. Bhosale College early in the morning at 6.30 a.m. on 7th January, 2022. Mask and Sanitizer was distributed to all student and instructed them about precaution COVID-19.
Later on all headed towards Mafro Garden Pachgani. The manager of Mafro garden explained step-by-step the how Mafro factory work and their instruments. The maneger answered the questions raised by the students. Prof. Dr. S. D. Jadhav thanked to manager for guiding the students providing more information about the workings of the Mafro industry and marketing.
Students understand the about how factory work and their requirements. Also they understand the role of each instruments located in factory. Practically the students may understand the industrial chemistry According to Shivaji university syllabus.
